About the role
This role is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of a natural gas compressor station and pipeline system to ensure safe, reliable product flow and full regulatory compliance. Duties include operating the compressor station on a rotating schedule, responding to callouts during assigned operating weeks, and participating in an area-wide on-call rotation for emergency or abnormal operating conditions. The position provides environmental, health, safety, and reliability support for natural gas transmission operations.
Responsibilities
- Identify and report abnormal or unsafe conditions
- Complete accident and near-miss reporting
- Support emergency response efforts
- Perform regulatory compliance activities
- Conduct equipment maintenance and repair
- Execute operations, maintenance, and repair procedures in accordance with DOT regulations, industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and company policies
- Handle natural gas related to reciprocating/turbine compression equipment and pipeline network in assigned area
- Perform assigned tasks and support construction activities
- Conduct preventative maintenance and regulated compliance inspections (e.g., meter stations, corrosion control systems, valves, leak surveys, right-of-way areas)
- Manage facility encroachment activities (e.g., pipe locates, excavations, inspections)
- Acquire Operator Qualification (OQ) tasks
- Occasionally assist at other work locations
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of personnel
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and schedule multiple projects
- Experience with Microsoft programs
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow company procedures and manufacturer guidelines
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet
- Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns
- Ability to work alone in extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, muddy, wet environments)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle
- Strong commitment to personal and team safety
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must reside within 30 miles of the Lebanon, OH facility

Schedule
Normal work hours are 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. weekdays but are subject to change. This position requires occasional call-outs, schedule adjustments, and participation in an on-call rotation for emergencies.
