Associate Field Technician / Field Technician / Sr. Field Technician

Duties

• Operating the compressor station on a rotating schedule
• Responding to callouts during assigned operating weeks
• Participating in an area-wide on-call rotation for emergency or abnormal operating conditions

Responsibilities

• Identifying and reporting abnormal or unsafe conditions
• Completing accident and near-miss reporting
• Supporting emergency response efforts
• Performing regulatory compliance activities
• Conducting equipment maintenance and repair

Key Responsibilities

• Handling natural gas related to reciprocating / turbine compression equipment, pipeline network in assigned area
• Performing assigned tasks
• Supporting construction activities
• Conducting preventative maintenance and regulated compliance inspections along pipelines such as meter stations, on corrosion control systems, valves, leak surveys and right-of-way areas
• Managing facility encroachment activities such as pipe locates, excavations, and inspections

Required Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• 1 to 5 years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experience
• Excellent verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and a history of safe work
• Ability to work outside in hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments and ability to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs and ladders
• Ability to utilize a PC and manage a filing system
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet
• Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

• 3 (plus) years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience
• Understanding of DOT 192 regulations
• Natural gas compressor maintenance experience
