Associate Field Technician/ Field Technician/ Sr. Field Technician

About the role

This position is responsible for carrying out daily operations & maintenance tasks associated with pipeline activities and to assist with operations and maintenance of Boardwalk’s facilities located in Isola, Lexington, and Kosciusko Mississippi areas. This position will be responsible for environmental health & safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system.

Responsibilities

• Corrosion control
• Valve inspection and maintenance
• Pipeline locating
• Pipeline patrolling
• One-calls
• Preventive pipeline maintenance
• Operations and maintenance of meter stations and compressor stations
• Valve site and right of way maintenance
• Assisting with construction and repairs of pipelines and associated facilities
• Recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions
• Accident and near miss reporting
• Emergency response (HAZWOPER)
• Regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with DOT, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances
• Responding to call-outs and being part of the on-call rotation related to pipeline and compression operations
• Responding to emergency or abnormal situations

Requirements

This position requires a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, 1 to 5 years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experience, excellent verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and a history of safe work, ability to work outside in various weather conditions, ability to utilize a PC and manage a filing system, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, strong mechanical aptitude, ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet, ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, and a strong commitment to personal and Team safety.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must live within 30 miles of the Kosciusko facility located in Kosciusko, Mississippi, in order to respond to call outs expediently. Normal work hours for this position are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday – Friday, however, this position is subject to occasional after hours as well as off day callouts.

Skills

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record, 1 to 5 years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experience, excellent verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and a history of safe work, ability to work outside in hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments and ability to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs and ladders, ability to utilize a PC and manage a filing system, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong mechanical aptitude, ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet, ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, and a strong commitment to personal and Team safety.
