About the role
The Associate Executive Director is responsible for leading center operations, specifically in Membership, Philanthropy (including Volunteerism), Community Engagement, and Stay and Play for a Y Family Center. They supervise assigned associates, manage facilities, and oversee various aspects of the Y's mission.
Responsibilities
- Create strategies to meet new member recruitment, sales, and philanthropy goals.
- Foster a member-focused culture and model relationship-building skills.
- Implement strategies to retain existing members and participants.
- Coordinate program registration and provide support to Program Directors.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop associates and volunteers.
- Review and evaluate associates' performance.
- Create tools and strategies for marketing programs internally and in the community.
- Maintain accurate records and statistics; prepare reports and presentations.
- Ensure quality of materials for distribution and accuracy of information.
- Represent the Y at community events to promote the Y and increase community engagement.
- Assist in the development of cooperative community relationships and partnerships.
- Manage budget for membership, stay and play, and philanthropy.
- Work closely with and follow the direction of the Executive Director.
- Participate in and support associate meetings and/or related meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous supervisory experience in sales and customer service preferred, with three or more years’ experience in managing exempt personnel or equivalency preferred.
- Supervision of a 4,000+ membership unit Y or equivalency preferred.
- Supervision of budget exceeding $1.5M.
- Demonstrated track record of generating leads and closing sales.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing results-oriented retention and engagement strategies.
- Strategic planning and tactical execution experience that resulted in achievement of goals.
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
