Associate Executive Director
Job Description
Responsible for one of Old Colony YMCA's largest branches, the AED will play a major role all aspects of the YMCA operations. In this role the AED will be responsible for a team of over 200 staff with 4-6 full time direct reports.
Qualifications
- Ability to build a team and direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development.
- Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business or a related field, or equivalent, preferred.
- Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications

Ensures that branch programs and events meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Works with Program Directors to establish new program activities and program expansion within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans ensuring financial and operational efficiency.
Recruit, select, employ, evaluate and direct a strong, capable team of staff to deliver innovative high quality/volume programs and member services.
Builds relationships with and among members, responds to inquiries and solves problems. Creates a safe and supportive community environment, assists in recruiting and engaging new members, and connects members to the YMCA s mission.
Works with Program Directors to plan and manage department budgets as approved in a fiscally responsible manner.
Works with appropriate branch staff to provide program facilities for members that are safe, clean, adequately equipped, well maintained, and attractive.
Oversees the development and support of program and event volunteers. Will provide leadership to a Cause Advisory Board as assigned by Branch Executive.
Affords assistance as a Branch Leader in YMCA fundraising activities/events at the Branch and Association level.
Engages and builds collaborative relationships with community organizations.
