Associate Engineer
About the role
E Source helps utilities improve their operations through energy efficiency programs. This role involves analyzing data, developing methodologies, and conducting on-site verifications.
Responsibilities
- Analyze energy efficiency program data using Excel and other tools
- Evaluate and develop methodologies and algorithms to determine electric and fossil fuel savings
- Calculate energy and demand savings associated with various energy efficiency measures
- Conduct on-site verification of energy efficiency measures
- Prepare high-quality reports and presentations based on engineering methods and findings
- Support additional evaluation and research activities as assigned
Requirements
- Holds a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering, physics, environmental sciences, or a related field
- Has coursework, projects, or professional experience related to energy consumption, energy efficiency, clean energy, or sustainability in the built environment
- Understands the engineering principles underlying building energy use
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and has some familiarity with Python
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to quality assurance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid technical research abilities
- Thrives when managing multiple time-sensitive priorities
Qualifications
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, ENERGY STAR, IPMVP, IECC, and other building codes, standards, and protocols
- Experience with energy modeling, bin data analysis, and data logging with various types of equipment
- Experience with residential or commercial building energy simulation modeling applications like eQuest, OpenStudio, EnergyPlus, EnergyPro, or EnergyGauge

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Pay
The budgeted salary for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 USD + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
Schedule
This role is remote with infrequent travel (generally 3–4 times per year).
