Our platform automates inbound and outbound workflows across pharmacy operations, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing, with deep integrations into pharmacy management systems (Liberty/RedSail) and leading EHR platforms (Epic, athenahealth). We operate on HIPAA-, SOC 2-, and HITECH-compliant infrastructure, and we serve pharmacies, health systems, and pharmaceutical companies. Role Overview The Associate Engineer is an entry-level role for early-career engineers eager to learn and grow. You’ll write and test code under the guidance of senior engineers, contribute to well-scoped features and bug fixes, and develop a strong foundation in software engineering practices while building healthcare AI products that matter. Responsibilities Write, test, and debug clean code for well-defined tasks under the guidance of more senior engineersImplement small features and bug fixes within an existing codebaseParticipate in code reviews as a reviewer and reviewee to learn the team’s standardsWrite and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliabilityCollaborate with teammates in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectivesLearn the product architecture, integration points (Epic, athenahealth, Liberty/RedSail), and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITECH)Document your work clearly and ask questions proactively to accelerate your learning Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience (e.g., bootcamp plus a portfolio of projects)0–1 years of professional software development experience, including internships or significant academic/personal projectsFoundational proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go)Understanding of core computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and version control (Git)Eagerness to learn, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset Preferred Qualifications Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Familiarity with REST APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), or web frameworksInterest in healthcare, AI/ML, or voice technology Why HendrenAI HendrenAI is bringing modern voice AI and agentic automation to a healthcare system still buried in manual administrative work.
