Associate Engineer
About the role
Cargill’s Ag & Trading enterprise connects producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution, while offering farmer services and risk management solutions. The Associate Engineer will help optimize the interconnected components of a manufacturing system by developing and applying engineering standards and procedures, advising on engineering issues, and collaborating with senior professionals to contribute to planning, designing, estimating time and cost, and overseeing construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and components.
Key Accountabilities
- Follow prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems.
- Continue to build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.
- Contribute to designing and improving manufacturing processes, instruments, and equipment.
- Test manufactured products to maintain quality.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, such as Excel and Word.
Preferred qualifications include experience with problem solving or troubleshooting to fix repetitive failures and previous experience working in a production or plant environment.
