About the role
The ER Technician I supports the clinical team by performing assigned tasks and activities according to skill level and patient needs as assessed and delegated by the Registered Nurse. These activities may include patient care such as obtaining vital signs and weights, patient comfort and hygiene interventions, assistance with toileting, transporting patients by gurney or wheelchair, and miscellaneous duties in assisting the physician and nursing team.
Responsibilities
- Routine stocking and organizing of department supplies and equipment
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment by preparing rooms between patients
- Performing receptionist and clerical duties including transcription of physician orders, retrieving computer data, computerized order entry, maintaining ER Registry, and filing of patient records
- Providing a calm and organized demeanor during potential stressful or traumatic clinical situations
Requirements
Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License or Washington Medical Assistant Certification or Washington Medical Assistant Registration within 60 days of hire
- 1 year hospital, physician office, emergency services, or other medical setting experience
