Associate Electrical Engineer

This full-time opportunity is for an Associate Electrical Engineer in Kansas City, MO.
Responsibilities
- Work on the end-to-end design of mixed-signal, digital, and power electronics systems from customer requirements.
- Design electrical systems in a wide range of fields including biotechnology and defense.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
- Perform duties on multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
- Manage own workload and independently complete assigned tasks.
Success Factors
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers or technical staff as assigned.
- Communicate project development and progress with team leads, project managers, and may participate in coordination with federal clients and contractors.
- Create electrical circuit drawings that accurately reflect each project’s requirements and quality standards.
- Provide timely technical guidance and feedback to internal clients, external clients, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Exposure to embedded circuit design and software integration.
- Hands-on debugging of digital, analog, RF, or mixed-signal CCAs or electro-mechanical systems.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Flexible and positive under pressure; able to adapt quickly in a fluid, fast-moving environment while maintaining harmony with the team.
- Able to take direction and constructive feedback while also advocating for sound technical decisions to become a better contributor.
- Proficient with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum/network analyzers, etc.).
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 and other electrical standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 4-12 weeks per year.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with electrical design and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle (Altium preferred).
- Able to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, BoMs, and technical datasheets.
- Ability to obtain government security clearance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range is $75,500 - $94,000.
