About the role
The Associate Director, U.S. VOXZOGO Marketing will lead the brand strategy and market execution for VOXZOGO, a therapy for a rare genetic condition. This role requires strong leadership across internal teams and external stakeholders, and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the success of VOXZOGO and the lives of children with rare genetic conditions.
Responsibilities
- Lead VOXZOGO through a key competitive entry in the U.S.
- High visibility with senior leadership and global teams
- Opportunity to drive near-term impact at a pivotal moment to defend and expand VOXZOGO market leadership
- Drive franchise value in a competitive market with new entrants; key driver of U.S. strategy and a core contributor to Global strategic direction
- Analyze the market environment to support readiness for an upcoming competitor launch. Integrate competitive intelligence into marketing and cross-functional strategies
- Lead U.S. competitive-readiness efforts; collaborate with Global marketing while advocating for and representing the U.S. point of view
- Own strategy and performance for a priority customer segment within the VOXZOGO U.S. business; define A-to-B shift, key messages, tactics, channels, and key metrics to measure campaign performance
- Leverage BioMarin’s new digital capabilities to drive true omnichannel engagement with our customers
- Accountable for delivering measurable growth and/or retention in a competitive market
- Lead cross-functional teams and agency partners to execute against brand strategy
- Manage and optimize significant marketing investments
- Collaborate with U.S. marketing team members on key activities such as insights-gathering activities, campaign and tactic development and field communication
- Closely collaborate with key functional partners (e.g., sales, medical, access, corporate communications) to drive alignment on strategy and key messages
- Regularly engage with key customers at medical congresses, ad boards, advocacy events and in other settings; may take on responsibilities for ad board planning, execution, and oversight of major congresses
- Work closely with the Business Insights & Analytics team to develop, track, and monitor KPIs to measure impact of competitor launch
- Drive core planning processes such as brand plan and tactical plan, alongside senior leadership
- Manage budget and external partners effectively
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Life Sciences (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in pharma/biotech commercial roles and driving success in competitive markets
- Experience working with creative agencies, promotional review team (medical, regulatory, legal) and others to develop, deploy, measure and optimize marketing campaigns
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills, comfortable with complexity and ambiguity
- Strong communication skills, ability to tell a compelling story and interact with senior leaders
- Success interacting at all levels of a matrixed organization
- Strong sense of accountability and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Able to manage multiple demands and priorities on time, lead teams, gain alignment and drive decision making
- A self-starter who demonstrates energy and enthusiasm, bringing a positive solution-oriented approach to challenges
- A passion for improving patient and business outcomes
Qualifications
- Working knowledge and understanding of multiple major pharmaceutical markets
- Working knowledge of market access and medical strategy
- Management or strategy consulting experience preferred
- Rare disease experience is a plus
- Prior sales experience is a plus

Benefits
- Base salary range: $164,300 to $225,940
- Discretionary annual bonus
