Associate Director of Partner Recruiting - US
About the role
The Associate Director of Partner Recruiting - US is an integral part of Latham & Watkins' Partner Recruiting & Integration team. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm's US lateral partner and counsel recruiting function, collaborating closely with leadership and office administrative teams to support the firm's goals for expanding partnerships through lateral hires.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring all US lateral partner and counsel recruitment processes are managed, including securing necessary approvals, seeking broad support, and escalating issues to leadership.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and commercial awareness among the US-based partner and counsel recruiting team.
- Providing day-to-day management, leadership, and development opportunities to the US-based team members.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of the firm's practice and industry platforms, and building strong relationships with partners across the US to support recruitment efforts.
- Serving as a point of escalation and strategic advisor to partner sponsors, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
- Protecting and managing sensitive, confidential information.

- Demonstrate excellent leadership skills, including organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Show well-developed interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels and with external recruiters.
- Show strong personnel management skills, including the ability to manage, lead, train, and develop colleagues.
