About the role

The Associate Director, MMI Business Office provides senior leadership and operational oversight in support of the Director of Financial and Administrative Services and the Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) mission. This role oversees day-to-day research administration, research financial management, business service operations, and compliance across 25 organizational units.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key advisor to department leadership and collaborates closely with Department Directors to support program growth, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Provides supervision and leadership to professional and support staff.
  • Maintains strong partnerships with UNMC Sponsored Programs Administration and Accounting, UNMC Business and Finance, and other UNMC colleges and units to ensure effective financial and research management across the Institute.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in research administration, financial management, and/or business operations.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of federal regulations and policies governing research funding, including but not limited to NIH, NSF, and HRSA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
