About the role
The Associate Director of Data Strategy and Business Intelligence will lead the development and execution of data strategy plans to support the Market Access and Patient Services organization. This role reports to the Director of Market Access and Patient Services Data Transformation and supports enterprise capabilities for the Analytics and Performance Operations (APEX) organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team to drive the evolution of our landscape by building scalable solutions and capabilities to maximize value, ensure readiness for advanced analytics & AI, and accelerate speed to insights.
- Modernize Business Intelligence capabilities to automate workflows, embed AI, standardize and streamline reporting to advance self-serve analytics and data-driven decisions.
- Develop and execute a plan for data enablement, data literacy and standardization across the Market Access data domains. Maintain a deep understanding of Market Access data needs to drive adoption across these domains.
- Develop and maintain processes and artifacts to understand business rules for key metrics related to key Market Access domains (e.g.: Claims, Payor Plan Hierarchies, Contracts and Rebates).
- Drive the development of efficient, repeatable ETL processes for data ingestion, integration and standardization for analytics and reporting use cases.
- Oversee a program to develop data literacy among APEX Analytics users.
- Partner with Business Technology Services to create data inventories, catalogs & definitions inclusive of relevant Market Access ecosystem concepts and ERD (Entity Relationship Diagrams) to ensure data accessibility, visibility and understanding is supported across all stakeholders.
- Execute data assessments across new or existing data assets and facilitate productive discussions among cross-functional partners to help bring a more holistic and integrated picture of business opportunities.
- Identify and secure an effective team of resources to execute solutions and plan for appropriate budget needs to build or onboard the solutions in a timely fashion.
- Define key project milestones, risk & contingency plans across a variety of initiatives, and communicate achievements against those milestones to various level audiences.
- In collaboration with APEX partners, consult with Market Access Stakeholders and Business Technology Services, and identify tactical initiatives to deliver data and metrics for measuring/improving program execution.
- Partner with procurement to drive vendor RFPs and negotiate key contracts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or Operations is required. A master's degree is a plus.
- 10-12 years of professional experience.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in data analysis, data management, data delivery, and business intelligence. 1-2 years of people supervision experience.
- Hands-on ability with tools, programming languages and cloud infrastructure for ETL - SQL, Trino Snowflake, AWS.
- Strong experience with data enablement including dimensional data models, ETL workflows and SQL queries leveraging a variety of technologies to support the analytics value chain across descriptive and predictive analytics.
- Exposure to building AI capabilities leveraging LLMs to build end user capabilities.
- Experience enabling and assessing different types of data in the pharmaceutical industry across relevant to Market Access domains.
- Experience in concepts of Managed Market controls and pricing (Trade, PBMs, Payors, Government), Pharmaceutical supply chain, Health system affiliations and pharmaceutical sales teams preferred.
- Experience in business and/or analytics consulting roles for technology/analytics services companies as a plus.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment across commercial and marketing stakeholders.
- Project management experience, strong communication skills, written and verbal skills.

Pay
$141,500 - $268,500 USD
