About the role

The Investments and Strategic Initiatives team at the College Board is seeking an Associate Director of Investments. This is a full-time, remote position with the option of a hybrid schedule for candidates living near College Board offices. The role requires occasional travel for business purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Advance M&A strategy to drive significant impact for the organization and its members and students.
  • Research education sectors, develop landscape assessments, and analyze trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Analyze potential acquisition targets and develop strategic rationale and risk assessments.
  • Create financial models, projections, and customer analyses to support strategic decisions.
  • Participate in financial due diligence processes and present findings to senior management and the Board.
  • Manage and report on the College Board’s impact investment portfolio, preparing investment memos and participating in Investment Committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with Strategy and Program leadership to explore partnership opportunities that align with the College Board’s mission and goals.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in investment banking or corporate development.
  • Extensive experience in financial modeling and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to summarize complex financial analysis and communicate findings effectively to senior management.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and investments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Prior M&A experience is a plus.
  • The ability to travel 3-5 times a year for College Board offices or on behalf of College Board business.
