Associate Director Information Technology
About the role
Directs the activities of an Information Technology (IT) team assigned to support an organizational segment of the organization. Works with department, product line, or system leadership to develop Information Technology strategy. Conveys that strategy to staff and ensures it is fulfilled. Administrative responsibility for assigned staff members. Oversees projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner in accordance with established IT standards.
Job Duties
- Responsible for coordinating Information Technology support for assigned segment of the organization.
- Strives to gain and maintain an understanding of the business policies and practices employed in the areas of responsibility.
- Works with department, product line, or system leadership to develop and implement Information Technology strategy.
- Conveys IT strategy to staff and ensures that plans are implemented in accordance with organizational need.
- Ensures that staff members follow established IT project management guidelines to guarantee a successful implementation.
- Responsible for vendor management, which includes but is not limited to, contract negotiations, invoice reconciliation, release updates, issues lists and new product evaluations.
- Develops and administers IT budget for responsible area.
- PRACTICES FISCAL SOUND BUDGET MANAGEMENT TO ENSURE SPENDING IS HELD TO ALLOCATED FUNDS.
- Responsible for the staff recruitment, development, retention, and disciplinary process.
- Mentors staff in best practices for providing IT support and project management.
- Develops and fosters the team approach to staff organization and interaction.
- Formulates staff development plan to ensure members maintain highest level of technical, interpersonal and project management skills possible.
- ATTENDS ALL NECESSARY MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT COURSES SO ORGANIZATIONAL POLICY IS UNDERSTOOD AND EFFECTIVELY ADMINISTERED.
- ENSURES DEPARTMENTAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL POLICY CHANGES ARE CONVEYED, UNDERSTOOD AND PRACTICED BY THE STAFF.
- Maintains individual work schedule and submits progress reports as requested by direct supervisor.
- SUPPORTS IT DEPARTMENTAL INITIATIVES AND ENSURES FULL COOPERATION OF STAFF WITH OTHER IT TEAMS.
- Maintains a high-level understanding of Information Technology in general and more in-depth knowledge of those facets particular to primary area of responsibility.
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs, including productivity standards.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years - Managerial/Supervisory
- Minimum of 12 years - Relevant experience*
