About the role
The Associate Director - Information & Simulation Technology works with the Executive Director to implement strategies and manage customer and technical services support models that address the technical needs of the college. They oversee IT teams, manage workloads, and ensure systems and networks operate optimally.
Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with the Executive Director to implement strategies and manage customer and technical services support models that address the technical needs of the college.
- Manages the IT department’s work teams and operations including instructional and simulation technology; Help Desk; computer labs: media/audio-visual, events, system management, and user support.
- Maintains proficiency in existing and emerging trends in the use of simulation technology and virtual reality in health care education and IT systems, computer networks, and AV technologies.
- Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for staff to support skill development.
- Develops and conducts on-going user training sessions as required.
- Participates in the interviewing and selection of IT staff. Administers personnel actions and enforces personnel policies and procedures.
- Defines roles and responsibilities of employees and work teams. Monitors work performance and addresses performance issues.
- Assists in developing department’s operating budget; reviews budget expenditures and provides recommendations for purchasing of IT and simulation equipment; monitors changes in technology to ensure optimal purchasing decisions.
- Responsible for the inventory of all computer and simulation technology equipment at the college.
- Available to provide system maintenance or end-user support outside of normal business hours.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Relevant certification required
- Four (4) years of supervisory and relevant IT work experience in an IT department
- Experience working in areas of instructional technology support, Help Desk and user support operations, or simulation technology and software highly desirable
- Advanced computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experience working within a unionized setting preferred
- Ability to conceptualize and implement appropriate technical solutions
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and multiculturalism in one’s work experience
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Pay
Salary Range: $80,717- 85,000 per year
Schedule
Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within 6 months of hire.
