About the role
The Associate Director, Direct-to-Patient (DTP) Marketing supports the execution and day-to-day management of Zimmer Biomet’s consumer-facing marketing programs that drive patient acquisition, engagement, and conversion across the musculoskeletal care journey.
Responsibilities
- Manage the execution of multi-channel consumer marketing campaigns across paid media, search, display, social, email, and point-of-care channels, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Coordinate lifecycle and nurture program execution that guides patients from disease education through treatment consideration and conversion, tracking performance at each stage of the journey.
- Maintain and report on the consumer marketing measurement framework, tracking KPIs across the patient journey and delivering regular performance dashboards and insights to leadership.
- Support budget tracking, forecasting, and reconciliation across consumer marketing channels and agency partners to ensure fiscal accountability and optimize spend efficiency.
- Manage day-to-day agency and vendor coordination, including creative briefing, timeline management, deliverable review, and ensuring alignment with brand and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with Digital, IT, and Data teams to support marketing technology operations including systems, consent management, analytics tools, and marketing automation platforms.
- Coordinate the operational execution of Zimmer Biomet’s celebrity ambassador and influencer campaigns, supporting integration into the broader marketing funnel and tracking engagement metrics.
- Gather and synthesize patient insights, market research, and behavioral data to support audience segmentation, personalization initiatives, and campaign optimization recommendations.
- Ensure all consumer-facing content and campaigns are routed through applicable regulatory and compliance review processes (e.g., FDA, HIPAA, GDPR) and maintain documentation accordingly.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Medical Education, Clinical, Legal, and Compliance teams to coordinate patient and provider communications and support market development initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of standardized processes, workflows, and templates to enable scalable, efficient, and repeatable campaign execution across the DTP marketing ecosystem.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging digital marketing best practices, surfacing insights and recommendations to inform DTP program innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience, or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 9+ years of related experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in consumer marketing, digital marketing, or performance marketing for direct-to-patient, direct-to-consumer, or consumer healthcare marketing with the ability to execute multi-channel campaigns driving engagement, conversion, and measurable business outcomes required.
- Proficiency in marketing analytics, reporting tools, and data-driven campaign optimization across digital channels including media, web, CRM, and lifecycle marketing.
- Experience in marketing automation platforms, CRM/CDP systems, or related marketing technology tools.
- Experience in MedTech, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated healthcare industry preferred.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to track campaign KPIs, build performance dashboards, and translate data into actionable optimization recommendations.
- Working proficiency in marketing automation platforms, CRM/CDP systems, and digital marketing tools with the ability to manage workflows and support process improvement.
- Ability to build productive working relationships, coordinate across diverse stakeholders, and manage deliverables in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Foundational knowledge of healthcare marketing regulations (e.g., FDA, HIPAA, GDPR) and familiarity with medical-legal-regulatory review processes in a MedTech or life sciences environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain attention to detail, and deliver clear status updates to leadership.

$145k to $175k plus target bonus
