About the role

This role focuses on CDMO business development by managing existing client relationships and expanding our business within the biotech sector in Southern California. You will work closely with the Senior Business Development leadership team and operations to develop strategies and tactics to meet regional sales targets, while staying current on competitors and contributing to future service offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve regional sales targets.
  • Grow the business in the responsible region by identifying and developing new biotech clients, expanding existing clients’ business, and managing strategic accounts across WuXi Biologics’ value chain.
  • Manage a portfolio of biotech accounts and build strong internal relationships across functions.
  • Align with functions and subject matter experts (SMEs) for each account.
  • Plan and execute the selling, proposal, and contract negotiation process independently.
  • Represent WuXi Biologics at trade shows.
  • Contribute to key commercial strategies across the Global Business Development team.
  • Manage all business aspects of the customer relationship and deliver exemplary customer service.
  • Update Salesforce.com in a timely manner and monitor KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; MBA or PhD preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years, or Master’s/PhD with at least 3 years, of life science industry experience, preferably including 2 years of successful sales and territory management within the CMO/CRO space.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated gravitas and relationship-building skills, with a focus on listening and empathy.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $128,800 to $219,000.
