Associate Director

About the role

The Associate Director assists the Area Director and oversees the managers. They maintain a high level of quality for the program and ensure coordination between the school, various state workers, family, therapist, court, and residential placement to support individuals in gaining greater independence. The role upholds the five Chrysalis Values: Respect, Safety, Fun, Mentoring, and Accountability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee managers and ensure program quality.
• Coordinate between schools, state workers, families, therapists, courts, and residential placements.
• Provide appropriate support to individuals to help them achieve greater independence.
• Complete all assigned program documentation accurately and within allotted time frames.
• Manage personnel and program issues effectively.
• Continually improve the quality and profitability of the program.
• Develop and write effective goals using person-centered plans (desired).
• Handle crisis situations with good judgment (desired).

Requirements

• 21 years of age or older.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the disability field.
• 2 years of experience in the human services field.
• Demonstrated supervisory skills and ability to prioritize work.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good public relations skills for working with outside professionals and state employees.
• Ability to manage personnel and program issues effectively.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience and/or equivalent education working with people who have developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of person-centered plans and goal development.
• Experience supervising employees.
• Strong general writing skills and ability to articulate on a variety of issues.
• Ability to understand and manage personnel issues positively.
• Computer skills.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate individuals' needs.
