Associate, Digital Finance Transformation - Data Scientist - Private Equity Performance Improvement (OPEN TO ALL US LOCATIONS)
About the role
The role focuses on helping private equity portfolio companies accelerate digital enablement within the finance function—modernizing data environments, automating processes, and building analytics-driven tools that create measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with CFOs, Controllers, and FP&A leaders to design, implement, and operationalize digital solutions that improve performance, transparency, and scalability.
- Blend strong technical expertise in Python, SQL, and modern data platforms with a solid understanding of finance and accounting operations.
- Develop lightweight finance applications using Streamlit or Retool.
- Translate between finance and technology teams to enhance business outcomes.
Requirements
- 3-6 plus years of professional experience; consulting or professional services experience preferred.
- Advanced Python programming experience, including familiarity with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric).
- Experience with ETL/orchestration tools (Dagster, Temporal, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Fivetran, Matillion).
- Demonstrated ability to develop lightweight finance applications using Streamlit or Retool.
- Solid understanding of finance and accounting concepts, including forecasting, working capital management, and three-statement modeling.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to translate between finance and technology teams.
- Ability to travel as required.

Benefits
Full-time Positions and Part-time Positions
Over 30 hours Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined periodically as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The amount of vacation and personal days available varies based on tenure and role type.
Pay
$90,000--$130,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
