About the role

The Digital Finance Transformation team within Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to contribute to the acceleration of digital enablement within the finance function of private equity portfolio companies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operationalize digital solutions that improve performance, transparency, and scalability for CFOs, Controllers, and FP&A leaders.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and translate them into actionable digital solutions.
  • Develop lightweight finance applications using Streamlit or Retool to enhance data environments and automate processes.
  • Work closely with clients to modernize their data environments and build analytics-driven tools.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support financial planning and decision-making.

Requirements

  • 3-6 plus years of professional experience; consulting or professional services experience preferred.
  • Advanced Python programming experience, including familiarity with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric).
  • Experience with ETL/orchestration tools (Dagster, Temporal, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Fivetran, Matillion).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop lightweight finance applications using Streamlit or Retool.
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting concepts, including forecasting, working capital management, and three-statement modeling.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to translate between finance and technology teams.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000--$130,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.

Schedule

Full-time positions are offered, with regular employees working 30 or more hours per week.
