Associate Design Engineer - Civil/Structural Engineering

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other engineering software.
  • Apply engineering principles, standard procedures, and industry codes to complete design assignments.
  • Interpret customer specifications and translate requirements into practical, manufacturable designs.
  • Provide engineering support to drafting, sales, quoting, and project teams.
  • Communicate technical information to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Aid in engineering-related pricing and quotation activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs can be produced efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and team effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering field with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Technical competence in structural engineering.
  • Strengths in interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt and professionally communicate with a variety of people.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with high attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment subject to specific deadlines.

Additional Details

  • Reports to the Site Engineering Supervisor/Manager.
  • Receives guidance and design review from senior engineers during training and development.
  • Supports drafters, project administrators, and other internal teams in reviewing and interpreting designs.
  • Has limited direct customer interaction through phone, email, and occasional site visits.
  • Collaborates with team members to meet project milestones and optimize workflow.

Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training Certificate.
  • Knowledge or understanding of computer programming.
