Associate Civil/Structural Engineer

About the role

National Grid is seeking an Associate Civil/Structural Engineer within its Substation Engineering and Design Department in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities

• Assist in substation design of steel and concrete features for the support of electrical components.
• Aid in providing written descriptions of civil engineering features.
• Support the review of engineering drawings, manufacturer drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Offer technical support to various departments including Engineering, Design, Operations, and Construction.
• Participate in construction and project closeout activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil / Structural Engineering or Civil / Structural Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited engineering school.
• Successful completion of NY State Fundamentals of Engineering exam desirable.
• Basic interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Basic problem solving and analytical skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil / Structural Engineering or Civil / Structural Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited engineering school.

Benefits

Salary range: $91,000 - $106,000 per year.
