Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Engineer, Civil/Structural to join our team!
This role may be part of a structured rotational program, providing experience across areas such as Project Controls, Procurement, Construction Management, and multiple engineering disciplines.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform engineering and design assignments using basic civil/structural engineering principles and fundamental theories learned in a bachelor’s program.
- Prepare or assist in preparing: Basic engineering calculations and analyses, Material quantity takeoffs and cost estimates, Field surveys and design layouts.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for materials, services, and subcontracts.
- Under guidance of a more senior engineer: Review supplier drawing submittals for technical compliance, Support technical bid evaluations and analyses.
- Aid in the preparation and issuance of: Specifications, Data sheets, Other construction and engineering documents.
- Provide technical input, markups, and coordination guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters working on the same project.
- Support project documentation, engineering records, and quality processes as required.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or related discipline).
- Typically 0+ years of related civil/structural or general engineering experience (internships or co-ops a plus).
- Basic knowledge of engineering concepts in civil/structural or related fields.
- Familiarity with CAD tools and common PC software packages used in engineering (e.g., AutoCAD/MicroStation/Revit, MS Office).
- Ability to learn and apply engineering procedures, standards, and codes under supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, with good organizational and documentation skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- EIT/FE certification in progress or completed (or ability to obtain).
- Exposure to CAE tools and structural analysis/design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar).
- Prior internship, co-op, or project experience related to civil/structural engineering or infrastructure projects.
