Associate Dean for Nursing Research and Graduate Department

About the Role

This is a 12-month full-time administrative position appointed by the Dean with the approval of the Provost. The Associate Dean also holds academic rank and may teach a maximum of 3 credits per academic semester.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of nursing research within the College of Nursing.
• Develop and facilitate faculty development in teaching, scholarship, and service, with a focus on research and grant writing.
• Enable and facilitate collaborative faculty scholarship and oversight of faculty programs of research.
• Facilitate faculty consultation with experts in research design, methodology, statistical analysis, and dissemination.
• Support faculty in submitting scholarly, data-based peer-reviewed journal articles and grant submissions.
• Maintain the faculty scholarship database and compile all faculty outcomes.
• Serve as the main administrative point of contact for graduate student inquiries, applicants, enrolled students, and alumni.
• Collaborate with the Office of Graduate Affairs and the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions to recruit and enroll graduate nursing students.
• Plan the graduate student schedule, including class size projections based on enrollment and admissions.
• Assist in planning and executing graduate student immersion experiences.
• Ensure graduate student progression toward graduation in collaboration with the graduate department chair and program directors.
• Serve as the direct point of contact for students regarding registration, graduation, and financial aid.
• Manage College of Nursing admission materials and programs in the graduate instance of Slate, ensuring programs and requirements are up to date.
• Direct and evaluate all accreditation activities, including self-study, accreditation, and annual reports, in association with the Dean and the Associate Dean for Student Success and Assessment.
• Serve as liaison to the Faculty Development Committee of the College of Nursing Faculty Assembly.
• Facilitate effective use of faculty sabbaticals.
• Maintain a database of peer-reviewed conferences for research dissemination.
• Develop and maintain a database for faculty scholarship.
• Serve as liaison to the library for continued development of the nursing collection.

Requirements

• PhD in Nursing.

Qualifications

• Active research/scholarship productivity.
• NJ RN license.

Pay

$100,000 - $137,500
