Associate Dean for Nursing Research
About the role
Mayo Clinic is seeking the next Associate Dean for Nursing Research! The successful individual will lead the Division of Nursing Research, oversee nursing research programs, and ensure alignment with Mayo Clinic’s strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate policies, programs, and services related to nursing research.
- Assess the research environment, forecast trends, and communicate ideas.
- Coach and mentor nursing research staff.
- Maintain Mayo Clinic and departmental core values.
- Work closely with administrative and research leadership to develop appropriate infrastructure.
- Lead and conduct clinical research in collaboration with Mayo Clinic physicians, scientists, and external partners.
- Secure competitive research funding and disseminate findings.
- Expand nursing knowledge globally and empower nurses to shape the future of healthcare.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (R.N.) with a terminal research degree (PhD).
- Preferred PhD in nursing or a related health sciences field.
- Track record of securing extramural research funding as a principal investigator (e.g. NIH, Department of Defense, AHRQ).
- Significant portfolio of data-based publications in leading journals in the field.
- Extensive record of mentoring across all career stages and educational preparations.
- Demonstrated leadership achievements in a leadership role.
- Eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor of Nursing; Professor rank is preferred.
Pay
The minimum starting salary for research specialties may range from $117,500 to $367,500. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate will vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
