Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Sales, Marketing & Global Services

About the role

The AWS Worldwide Public Sector Legal team is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services, a key division of Amazon.com. AWS is a leader in cloud computing, offering services like compute, storage, content delivery, and more to businesses and governments around the world.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft, and advise on procurement, technology licensing, and compliance matters for public sector customers worldwide.
• Work closely with AWS's public sector sales teams to address legal needs related to government contracts and resellers.
• Provide strategic advice and guidance on U.S. federal, state, and local government contracting laws and regulations.
• Negotiate and draft technology licensing agreements with public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators serving government agencies.
• Work independently and make decisions in ambiguous situations, contributing to the success of AWS’s public sector initiatives.

Requirements

• 2+ years of legal experience.
• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
• Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines.
• Experience with government procurement and contracting processes.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Experience working cross-functionally across various teams.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local government contracting laws, rules, and regulations.
• Experience negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with public sector customers.
