About the role

We're seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to be a pivotal force in shaping the future of cloud security at Amazon Web Services. In this role, you'll collaborate with security teams, translating complex legal challenges into innovative solutions that protect and empower our global customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal counsel on cloud security, transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters — drawing on a comprehensive understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks to navigate complex and evolving requirements
• Advisory security teams during strategic customer engagements, media interactions, and interactions with security researchers
• Serve as a subject matter expert on security commitments in cloud enterprise agreements
• Leverage deep expertise in commercial agreements and intellectual property transactions to lead negotiations for technology, intellectual property and data licensing across inbound and outbound initiatives
• Support the global security response team with nuanced legal perspectives, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving capabilities in ambiguous scenarios
• Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
• Uphold a deep commitment to ethical standards and professional integrity across all legal and business engagements

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent 2+ years of legal experience
• Demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards and professional integrity
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to make important decisions on emerging issues, often with limited information
• Experience anticipating developing issues, thinking ahead, and influencing internal and external stakeholders
