Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day clinical practices in collaboration with Practice Leadership.
• Ensure compliance with TJC, CMS, and DOH requirements across all practice locations.
• Oversee infection control standards in the practice and participate in EOC rounding.
• Communicate new processes, assist with coverage plans for unexpected needs, and act as the subject matter expert for clinical questions and EHR optimization.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and orientation of new clinical staff; complete clinical competencies and performance appraisals.
• Demonstrate how role contributes to achieving success and uses resources appropriately.
• Ensure commitment to providing service excellence and a safe working environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Strive to understand and value differences in others and modify interactions as needed.
• Participate in Entity and Department initiatives for Patient/Employee safety.
• Regularly meet with clinical staff to improve communication and build productive relationships.
• Establish/update work processes and perform clinical duties to maintain workflows and adequate staffing levels.
• In collaboration with clinical and operational leaders, manage team and individual performance in alignment with Penn Medicine's vision of service excellence.
• Clearly define work processes, recognize and reward individuals for a job well done, and address performance issues immediately.
• Assist Manager with recruitment, retention, and adequate onboarding.
• Assist with the development of clinical staff in collaboration with the Nursing Professional Development team.
• Assure staff are compliant with clinical competencies and mandatory trainings.
• Assist the practice or clinical leadership with appropriate staffing, compliance (TJC, CMS, DOH, OSHA), and continuous quality and safety improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a focus on Quality and Safety Priorities including but not limited to the application of a quality improvement framework (FOCUS PDSA), High Reliable Organization principles, and safety event follow-up.
• Manage pay practices including accurate timecard review and approval; review and manage all overtime utilization.
• Assist with the implementation of change management strategies within the practice in alignment with department, entity/Penn Medicine objectives.
• Support proactive communication and problem solving to enable high performance of team and individuals.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse - NJ (Required)
• BLS (Required)
• Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
• 3+ years clinical experience (Required)
