About the role

Schedule
- Monday through Thursday, 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM or until last patient leaves
- Friday 7:45 AM to 1:00 PM or until last patient leaves
- May be asked to float to other locations for coverage, as needed

Responsibilities
- Handle callbacks and referrals for patients inside and outside of the practice, check on the status of referrals, and communicate with patients regarding referral status
- Facilitate calls and voicemails from patients pertaining to concerns, questions, and refills; appropriately document in patient chart via telephone encounters
- Advise the provider as appropriate to address patient needs under direct supervision
- Create and manage Tricare accounts and input Tricare referrals
- Document notes in referrals and telephone encounters
- Access and check Outlook email and voicemails
- Perform e-faxing and check e-fax daily
- Obtain signatures on results from providers before scanning documents
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or RMA) or nursing assistant certification (CNA)
- CPR certified upon hire or ability to obtain within 30 days
- 1+ years in a medical office, experience with EMR, medical terminology, and previous experience in the medical field
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of clinical experience
- 1+ year customer service experience
- Experience with electronic medical records (ECW)
- Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
- Knowledge of medical terminology

Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment, depending on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
