Associate Clinical Care Coordinator
About the role
Optum is seeking Associate Clinical Care Coordinators to join our growing team. This position offers a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or until the last patient leaves. Schedules may change due to business needs and may require floating to other locations for coverage.
Responsibilities
- Handle referrals of patients inside and outside the practice, checking on their status and communicating with them regarding their referrals.
- Call back and handle voicemails from patients related to concerns, questions, refill requests, and document these interactions in the patient's chart.
- Facilitate calls and voicemails from patients, reporting back to the provider as necessary to address patient needs.
- Create Tricare accounts, input Tricare referrals, and document notes in referrals.
- Document telephone encounters and access and check emails and voicemails.
- E-fax documents and sign results from providers before scanning them.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or RMA) or nursing assistant certification (CNA)
- CPR certified upon hire or within 30 days
- 1+ years of experience in a medical office, familiarity with EMR, medical terminology, and previous experience in the medical field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
- 1+ years of clinical experience
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
- Knowledge of medical terminology

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with healthcare providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Pay
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $16 to $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
