Pennoni is hiring an Associate Civil Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis in the Clearwater or Tampa area. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of public and private site development projects, contributing to all phases including conceptual planning, preliminary design, detailed development, construction documentation, permitting documentation, and engineering reports.
Responsibilities
- Prepare site plan development drawings, including taking land survey data to develop a site plan package compliant with municipal regulations.
- Design and detail site layout, removals, grading, utilities, and stormwater management (SWM), including hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, erosion control, sediment control (E&SC), and relevant design calculations.
- Prepare permit applications and reports.
- Assist with mentoring junior-level staff.
- Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment under the supervision of a senior Professional Engineer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
- 3+ years of professional experience in Engineering, preferably with Land and/or Site Design projects.
Qualifications
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) / Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience with stormwater management, particularly using Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools; experience with HydroCAD is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in land development design using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, stormwater, sanitary sewer, and water line design.
- Proven ability to prepare a site plan package for submission to local jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and basic office software applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in an energetic and challenging work environment.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
