Associate Civil Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Aid in plan checking for encroachment permits, land development grading plans, street plans, water & sewer plans, drainage plans, drainage studies, and traffic control plans.
- Coordinate with utilities, contractors, consultants, and municipal departments.
- Support construction management activities, including resolving field issues when needed.
- Create technical documentation, reports, and project correspondence.
- Provide support for Capital Improvement Plan projects to senior engineers and public works staff.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Understanding of engineering principles related to public works, utilities, and land development projects.
- Familiarity with land development and CEQA.
- Awareness of relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office).
- Experience with AutoCAD 3D, GIS, ArcView, or ArcInfo.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or active progress toward a California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Competitive salary range: $100,000 - $130,000.
