About the role

The role focuses on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects, delivering projects by leading significant portions of various facilities throughout the design and construction phases, and startup phases as a technical specialist or lead.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design of projects from the conceptual and bid phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set by the project managers based off client needs
  • Aid the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets
  • Aid the Engineering Manager in managing sub-consultants
  • Interface directly with the client or sub-consultants under the direction of the Engineering Manager
  • Support business development through writing of technical approaches, scopes of work, and presentation to clients
  • Apply knowledge of regularly used civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the water engineering industry
  • Lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship
  • Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on less complex projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Licensed PE or ability and interest to obtain PE and/or be in active pursuit of registration
  • Thorough understanding or water and wastewater design (Infrastructure, Conveyance, Pump Stations/Lift Stations)
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience

Skills

  • Knowledge of regularly used civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the water engineering industry
  • Ability to apply knowledge to complex projects and find non-standard design solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines and project team members
  • Ability to prepare complex engineering deliverables, conduct independent evaluations, and manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements

Salary Plan ENG: Engineering Job Grade 015

Schedule

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
