About the role
This position is responsible for assisting in the leadership and management of one or more consumer brands within our marketing department. The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with an emphasis on collaborative interdepartmental teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of a brand plan that achieves company P&L targets, including advertising, program/promotions, and research. Collaborate with agencies/vendors and internal resources to drive superior market results.
- Manage the day-to-day logistics of brand programs with oversight and guidance as needed. Own timeline management, budget, and program analysis.
- Work with the New Product Development (NPD) team to turn consumer insights into profitable marketing initiatives and product innovations. Help develop selling propositions and launch support plans for retail.
- Provide consumption-based data analysis for the brand, delivering actionable insights to better understand market trends and dynamics. Identify opportunities in markets with unmet needs.
- Support the sales organization with best-in-class materials for retailer presentations, working closely with Category Management. Support the Monthly and longer-term S&OP planning process. Manage budget for programming and related PO/AP tracking to stay within budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field. MBA or MA/MS in marketing preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience, with at least 2 years in brand management preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and team skills, with the ability to deliver strong business results through collaboration with internal and external resources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert complex data into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with agencies and vendors.
- Results-oriented mindset, focusing on achieving goals the right way.
- Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment, making decisions with limited information and taking initiative.
- Proven experience in project planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and product positioning.
- Ability to prioritize marketing initiatives to achieve both short-term and long-term brand goals.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with company sales and merchandising standards, policies, and competitive positioning.
- 5% travel required (via car, plane, or rail).
Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and basic algebra/geometry.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems involving several variables.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit and frequently required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Schedule
- Hybrid work schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the Tarrytown office; remote on Mondays and Fridays.
- 40 hours per week.
Pay
Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
