An established firm based in New Orleans, LA with over 90 years in practice is seeking a Labor and Employment Attorney to join their team onsite.

About the role

This role focuses on labor and employment litigation and workplace disputes, representing employers and businesses in discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and general employment matters throughout Louisiana state and federal courts.

Responsibilities

  • Handling labor and employment matters from inception through resolution
  • Managing cases through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Drafting motions, briefs, discovery responses, and dispositive filings
  • Conducting and defending depositions of parties, witnesses, and corporate representatives
  • Advising employers on compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws
  • Communicating regularly with clients regarding case strategy, risk, and exposure
  • Appearing in state and federal court for hearings, conferences, and trials as needed

Requirements

  • 2+ years of labor and employment experience
  • Familiarity with discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and general employment litigation matters
  • Juris Doctorate and active Louisiana Bar membership in good standing
  • Law school transcripts required as part of the application
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and professionalism in a deadline-driven environment

Pay

Salary range: $95,000-$160,000+ depending on experience
