Associate Attorney / Counsel – Public Finance

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on municipal bond financings and public sector debt transactions
  • Assist governmental entities including cities, counties, housing authorities, and special-purpose districts with financing initiatives
  • Structure and support tax-exempt and taxable bond issuances
  • Draft and review transaction documentation including bond documents, financing agreements, and disclosure materials
  • Provide guidance on municipal law, regulatory considerations, and tax-related aspects of public finance transactions
  • Collaborate with clients, financial advisors, underwriters, and other transaction participants throughout the financing process
  • Support complex public finance projects tied to infrastructure, development, and community initiatives

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 2–5 years of transactional experience, preferably in public finance or municipal finance
  • JD required and prior experience working in a law firm
  • Experience advising governmental entities or public authorities on financing transactions is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with municipal finance regulations, tax considerations, and bond structures
  • Strong drafting and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in collaborative deal teams
  • Active Texas Bar membership or eligibility to become licensed in Texas
