Associate Attorney (CO)

Pappas Hayden Westwestberg & Jackson PC, a creditor’s rights and civil litigation law firm based in Overland Park, KS, is seeking an attorney licensed and residing in Colorado (KS and/or MO license preferred but not required). Candidates seeking admission in Colorado via the July Bar Exam may also be considered. This is a remote position with occasional trips to our Overland Park, KS office for training, meetings, and other needs.

Responsibilities

• Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents as necessary
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume role, including keeping up with emails and voicemail
• Work closely with support staff and other attorneys to maximize efficiency
• Communicate with clients, opposing attorneys, and pro se litigants in a professional and respectful manner
• Exercise independent judgment related to case progress and resolution
• Make weekly court appearances (including traveling) for dockets, motion hearings, and trial
• Perform all other duties and projects assigned by partners

Requirements

• Licensed and residing in Colorado (KS and/or MO license preferred but not required)
• Candidates seeking admission in Colorado via the July Bar Exam may be considered
• Full-time minimum office hours: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
