About the role
Support Control Center operators from Control Systems Operations center. Once fully qualified, will support a 24/7 operation as part of a shift rotation.
Responsibilities
- Follow a training and development program for Operations Support Analysts
- Assess Real-Time system status and equipment failures and coordinate repairs/replacement with appropriate vendors and users.
- Monitor and troubleshoot telemetry connections with field-located SCADA endpoints.
- Monitor, test, and manage Control Center data links with ERCOT, SIGE, and other entities.
- Perform physical security access control and visitor management in accordance with procedures.
- Install/remove Control Center OT equipment, cabling, and systems per System Owner requests.
- Support Control Center physical plant maintenance plans with vendor assistance.
- Cookordinate work activities with other user and /or support organizations related to EMS/ADMS interfaces (e.g., Information Systems, Substation Engineering, Substation Operations and Telecommunications, etc.).
- Perform/execute first level administration tasks for EMS/ADMS computers and related infrastructure systems.
- Observe all company safety procedures when performing installation, repair, maintenance, and testing responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in fields of Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Operations or qualifying work experience
- 2+ years experience in dispatch, data center, or Control Center
- 5+ years experience in dispatch, data center, or Control Center may be considered in lieu of education requirement
- Able to understand SCADA protocols and RTU communication
- Knowledge of computer troubleshooting, use of remote sessions for technical support
- Experience with system monitoring tools to analyze hardware status, network activity, user activity a plus
Qualifications
