Assoc - Project Engineer
About the role
Aids in implementing projects to enhance efficiency, boost revenue, and elevate customer service. Works closely with engineers and operations to develop and execute plans.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements operating plans, conducts studies, prepares data, and develops analytical tools for engineers and operations.
- Transforms business processes and operational tools to achieve global excellence.
- Prepares short and long-range plans, expansion plans, regulatory needs, and manpower needs.
- Gathers, organizes, and ensures the accuracy of data for operating plans and engineering analysis.
- Ensures compliance with FedEx policies, procedures, and governing authorities.
- Improves productivity, service, and cost performance in operations.
- Serves on special study teams investigating and implementing projects related to productivity and performance.
- Assists in engineering projects and studies directed by engineering management.
- Conducts research, evaluations, and recommendations on emerging technologies, business techniques, philosophies, and methodologies.
- Supports project plans, communication plans, and project statuses for stakeholders.
- Plans and organizes task assignments, priorities, schedules, and activities for initiatives.
- Assists with requirement specifications, solution design, system development and testing, and ensures regulatory compliance.
- Evaluates capital and expense planning, provides input for annual and long-range budget processes, and assists in the collection, analysis, and reporting of financial and operational indicators.
- Provides support for technical training to personnel through various methods.
- Establishes communications between operations and corporate departments to provide technical and local expertise.
Requirements
No prior experience required. Strong analytical and systems skills, along with strong communication abilities, are essential. Knowledge to develop models and tools, create short and long-term plans, and work with large amounts of data are preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field.

Hybrid position in Memphis, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees may need to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.
