About the role
This hybrid position blends meaningful in-person work with flexible remote opportunities, supporting both children and adults across a variety of settings. The role includes in-person services at the Fraser Ford School in Sanford, Maine, a year-round day treatment setting serving students from Pre-K through Grade 4. In this setting, the Occupational Therapist will provide both direct services and consultative support. When not on-site at the school, the Occupational Therapist will conduct assistive technology assessments for adults with physical, cognitive, or sensory disabilities. These services may be delivered remotely or in person.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to children in a therapeutic school environment
- Collaborate with educators and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
- Conduct assistive technology evaluations for adult clients
- Recommend and support the use of:
- Assistive and adaptive equipment
- Wearable and accessible technologies
- Home and environmental modifications
- Deliver training and education to clients, families, and caregivers
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current State of Maine Occupational Therapy License
- NBCOT (National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain Criminal History Record Check (CHRC)
- Valid driver’s license
- Successful completion of all required background checks
- Physical ability to:
- Climb stairs
- Sit and stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Navigate uneven terrain
