Princeton University Department of Athletics seeks an Assistant Women’s Ice Hockey Coach & Coordinator of Operations to support a Division I program that challenges and develops student-athletes while embracing equity, sportsmanship, and ethical conduct. This is a temporary position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes on a national and international level.
  • Manage and maintain the recruiting database of potential recruits.
  • Develop and execute a recruiting plan, including planning and organizing on-campus visits.
  • Support all aspects of coaching a nationally competitive Division I hockey program, including coaching strategies and student-athlete development.
  • Assist in overall program planning and organization.
  • Travel with the team to away competitions and coordinate team travel logistics.
  • Assist with and coordinate social media platforms.
  • Support alumni events and the development of the Friends Group.
  • Ensure adherence to Ivy League, ECAC, and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and coaching staff.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff, and alumni.
  • Uphold the Department of Athletics mission and values of Education Through Athletics.
  • Plan and organize the annual hockey banquet.
  • Assist with annual equipment orders, including gear, shoes, and periodic equipment needs.
  • Reconcile travel and purchasing card expenses monthly.
  • Assist hockey coaches with expense reconciliations.
  • Coordinate team travel, including flights, buses, hotels, meals, and visiting practice times.
  • Develop trip itineraries.
  • Help coordinate logistics during official visit weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coaching experience.
  • Collegiate hockey experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • First Aid, AED, and CPR certification (required within four months of hire).
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the role intercollegiate athletics plays in student-athlete development.
  • Valid, permanent driver’s license.

Schedule

  • Nights, weekends, and travel required.
  • Overtime eligible.
  • Estimated appointment end date: June 30, 2027.

Pay

$22.00 minimum hourly rate.
