Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

About the role

Cecil College is a post-secondary institution founded in 1968 that serves the educational needs of Cecil County residents. Located in North East, MD, the College is part of the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference and the National Junior College Athletic Association. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees and enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students.

Responsibilities

• Recruit student athletes
• Coordinate daily practices with the Head Coach
• Attend all home and away meets
• Communicate with Athletic Department to monitor student athlete academic progress
• Fundraising, including creating and implementing approved activities
• Handles other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate’s degree required
• 3 years coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred, minimum head coach at the high school varsity level

Qualifications

• Evidence of a commitment to academic and athletic excellence, cultural diversity and equity in sports
• Good communication and verbal skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Knowledge of NJCAA rules
• Computer skills

Skills

• Ability to lift and move up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Physical demands include climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting, and sitting.

Schedule

Schedules vary based on needs of team, approx. 25 hours a week

Pay

The stipend for this position is $3,000.
