Assistant Vice President for University Solutions + Chief Information Officer

The Assistant Vice President for University Solutions + CIO at Emporia State University is an essential part of the health and long-term vitality of the university. Emporia State is seeking an exceptional leader who is an experienced, driven professional with a proven track record of visioning and implementing change. This capable leader will excel at building relationships and creating value through solutions development in a complex organization to drive maximum effectiveness. They will lead, develop, and execute a comprehensive strategy that positions the University Solutions organization to enable and advance the university through a visionary approach and comprehensive digital strategy. The selected candidate will be gifted at creating and maintaining a positive and proactive culture that will transform how the university digital infrastructure supports students, employees, and Hornet Nation.
Responsibilities
- Comprehensive leadership and oversight of a unit of 40, including setting strategic direction, organizational development, culture and talent development, data analysis and reporting, complex budget management, and day-to-day operations.
- Create a positive, proactive, data-driven culture focused on delivering value-added solutions.
- Lead university technology innovation strategy, including AI strategies.
- Maximize technology investment via development of a formalized process improvement, project, and change management function.
- Create leading-edge opportunities via development and execution of a comprehensive digital and digital innovation strategy, including creation of an infrastructure and enterprise architecture that advances university priorities and meets stakeholder needs.
- Executive oversight and strategic alignment of university cybersecurity and compliance.
- Development, execution, and management of an end-to-end strategic technology lifecycle management process for the total university.
- Serve as part of the university senior leadership team.
- Establish KPIs and deliver value-add reporting and analysis providing actionable data for continued evolution of the university, students, stakeholders, and Enterprise Solutions.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field; or 6 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
- Proven leadership skills in senior leadership roles.
- Superior communication skills across all levels and functions.
- Transformative leader who can create new functions, processes, and systems to enable and advance the university.
- Superior ability to implement and lead large-scale change management strategies and tactics.
- Excellent collaborator with the ability to lead across the institution and organizational boundaries.
- Superior talent development and management skills.
- Strategic, data-driven employee with a proven track record of achieving goals and performance targets.
Pay
Compensation will be negotiable based upon education and experience.
