About the Role

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system serving a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. With over 6,000 colleagues, a 772-bed acute care hospital, and the region's only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III NICU, and PICU, TMH is the region's healthcare leader. The system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs, and more than 50 affiliated physician practices.

How You'll Make an Impact

As the AVP - Facilities and Construction, you will provide executive leadership, strategic direction, operational oversight, and financial management for Facilities and Construction throughout TMH. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee facility operations, construction and renovation planning, infrastructure reliability, utility management, environmental safety, regulatory compliance, and capital project execution to ensure safe, efficient, reliable, and compliant operations
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, physicians, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and departmental leaders to support organizational strategic initiatives, campus development, operational excellence, and patient care objectives
  • Provide leadership for long-range facility planning, construction management, asset stewardship, operational performance, and continuous improvement throughout the TMH enterprise

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, public health administration, health sciences, data analytics, or engineering.
Preferred: Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, engineering, architecture, or a related field.

Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare facilities, plant operations, construction management, support services, or related operational leadership roles, including responsibility for departmental operations, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and personnel management
  • Healthcare construction experience
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare facility operations, construction management, infrastructure systems, and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of AHCA, CMS, TJC, NFPA, OSHA, and related healthcare regulatory standards
  • Strategic leadership and operational management expertise
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, capital planning, and resource management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex capital projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven ability to drive operational efficiency, performance improvement, and organizational change
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leaders, physicians, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies

Certification/License/Registry

Required: A valid driver license and driving record that meets or exceeds the requirements of the organization's current vehicle insurance carrier. All certificates and licenses must be kept current as a condition of continued employment. Driving privileges are also subject to periodic review and driving record must remain within acceptable insurability standards.

Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar healthcare/facilities credentials.

Pay

This position is performance-based annual bonus eligible. Sign-on bonus and transition allowance eligible (restrictions may apply).

Schedule

Workplace Type: On-site (employees come to work in-person). This individual must live within driving distance of the Tallahassee, FL TMH campus for onsite expectations.
