Assistant Valet Supervisor with Security Clearance
Position Summary
Valet Personnel provides parking and vehicle assistance services to Veterans at the VA Medical Center, ensuring safe, efficient, and courteous handling of approximately 50 vehicles per day. Personnel play a critical role in enhancing Veteran access to care by minimizing congestion and improving patient experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet arriving vehicles and assist patients within required timelines
- Issue claim tickets and safely park vehicles
- Retrieve vehicles within 10 minutes of request (performance standard)
- Secure keys in designated locking systems
- Maintain safe vehicle control and awareness of pedestrian traffic
- Direct vehicles to appropriate parking locations
- Monitor and manage designated parking zones for efficiency
- Report all emergencies, incidents, or safety concerns to VA Police
- Aid in the removal of wheelchairs and carts from vehicles
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of arrival/parking areas
- Follow all traffic laws and VA facility policies
- Prepare for increased workload during special events
- Adhere to all VA facility rules, regulations, and federal laws
- Prohibited from accepting tips, gifts, or gratuities
- Must complete orientation and annual training
- Must comply with security, privacy, badging, and drug-free workplace requirements
Required Qualifications
- Must hold an active Secret Security Clearance
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Demonstrated customer service skills and professionalism
- Ability to comply with federal workplace policies
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly talk, listen, and write
- Frequently use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus needed
- Moderate noise level in the work environment
