Assistant Teaching Professor of Human Biology (Microbiology)

About the role

The University of Wisconsin–Green Bay Human Biology program is seeking applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Microbiology. The successful applicant will contribute to an interdisciplinary academic unit and prepare students for careers in health professions.

Responsibilities

• Teach a course load of 27 credits (~9 courses) per academic year in Microbiology.
• Opportunities to teach other courses in the Human Biology program (e.g., Microbiology, Mycology, Parasitology, Immunology).
• Additional teaching assignments may include introductory and upper-level courses.
• Contribute to departmental and institutional development.

Requirements

• Earned Master’s degree (or higher) in Microbiology or related field by the beginning date of appointment.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, commitment to undergraduate education, and communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues.

Qualifications

• At least two years of college teaching experience preferred.
• PhD in Microbiology preferred.

Benefits

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

This position is a full-time, academic year, Instructional Academic Staff appointment. The home campus is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to teach a course or work at the Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs.

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position.

Pay

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
