About the role
The Department of Biology and Environmental Sciences at Auburn University at Montgomery is seeking to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biology. This position will enhance existing research strengths in molecular biology, cancer biology, microbiology or physiology, and will support a dynamic department and a growing MS program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Responsibilities
- Pursue research topics emphasizing training in biomedicine or biotechnology, with particular interest in areas related to cancer, immunology, and metabolomics.
- Develop a funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentor first-generation students.
- Employ innovative, evidence-based, and inclusive pedagogical practices.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Microbiology, or Physiology, with postdoctoral experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
- Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
- A strong commitment to mentoring first-generation students.
