Assistant Teaching Professor Faculty Position, Department of Mathematics
About the role
The Department of Mathematics at Rowan University is seeking to hire an Assistant Teaching Professor to begin on September 1, 2026. Candidates are expected to teach courses such as: Probability and Statistics for Computer Science Education, Basics of Statistical Computing, Probability and Statistics for Electrical & Computer Engineering, Statistics for the Biomedical Sciences, and Other departmental mathematics or statistics courses. In addition to teaching, successful candidates will contribute meaningfully to undergraduate and graduate program development and departmental service, engage in professional development, and stay updated with subject expertise and evidence-based instructional practices.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Probability and Statistics for Computer Science Education, Basics of Statistical Computing, Probability and Statistics for Electrical & Computer Engineering, Statistics for the Biomedical Sciences, and Other departmental mathematics or statistics courses.
- Contribute meaningfully to undergraduate and graduate program development and departmental service.
- Engage in professional development to stay updated with subject expertise and evidence-based instructional practices.

Pay
Annual Base Salary Range (Assistant Teaching Professor): Ranges 21, 24 Placement depends on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors. Start-up packages may be available.
Schedule
Full-time, 10-month, non-tenure track appointment. Teaching load: 24 credits over two semesters, Overload and summer courses available for additional compensation. Renewable based on performance and program needs.
